Best CS2 Launch Options

Launch options run before the game loads. Most “FPS boost” lists are junk — here are the few that genuinely help.

Worth using

• -novid — skips the intro movie.
• +exec autoexec.cfg — runs your autoexec on every launch.
• -tickrate 128 — 128-tick local/offline servers for practice.
• -language english — forces English regardless of Steam locale.
• +fps_max 0 — uncaps FPS from the start (or set your monitor-matched cap).

Set them

Steam → right-click Counter-Strike 2 → Properties → Launch Options, then paste, e.g.:

-novid -tickrate 128 +exec autoexec.cfg

Skip these

Most old CS:GO launch options do nothing in CS2 (or hurt): -high, -threads, -d3d9ex, and the long “FPS boost” strings. CS2 manages threading and priority itself — leave them out.

Pair with a config

Launch options are best paired with an autoexec.cfg. Build one here and add +exec autoexec.cfg so it runs automatically.
